1. Information we collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, mobile number, email address, and password. Tenants completing KYC verification additionally provide an identity document. Property owners provide property, room, and pricing details for their listings. We also collect information generated through your use of the platform, such as bookings, payments, and complaints you raise.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to operate the OwnStay platform: to create and manage your account, process bookings and payments, verify tenant identity where required, connect you with the relevant property owner or tenant, send booking/payment/KYC/ complaint notifications, and provide customer support.

3. Who can see your information

A property owner can see the profile and KYC status of tenants booked or onboarded at their own properties only — never tenants at another owner's properties. A tenant can see the public listing information of properties they search or book. OwnStay staff can access account data as needed to provide support or investigate policy violations.

4. KYC documents

KYC identity documents are stored securely and are only accessible to the tenant themselves and the property owner they are associated with (or platform staff for verification purposes). They are never made public.

5. Payment information

Online payments are processed by our third-party payment gateway. OwnStay does not store your full card, UPI, or bank credentials on its own servers.

6. Data retention

We retain account and transaction data for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations.

7. Your choices

You can review and update your profile information from your account settings at any time. To request deletion of your account or data, contact us using the details below.
